Rev. Larry D. Hooks II is the pastor/ founder of the Mt. Moriah Missionary
Baptist church. He was educated in the Duncan Oklahoma Educational School System and graduated with a B.S. in Sociology
and Business Administration from Dallas Baptist University in Dallas, Texas. He enrolled in Tennessee Theological School of
Religion, through correspondence of Houston, Texas.
Rev. Hooks has developed and organized ministries and auxiliaries that
have made an impact on both the Church and secular community. He has conducted Leadership Seminars and Workshops and has been
effective in developing successful programs relative to understanding the biblical principles of theology, cultic activity,
Black presence in scripture, Church Administration and Church Growth. He also
has addressed National Conferences and Conventions.
Rev. Hooks is a member of Oklahoma National Baptist Convention; Oklahoma
Baptist Ministerial Alliance; Southern Baptist Convention, Dean of Congress (Oklahoma General Baptist ); N.A.A.C.P.
Rev. Hooks is a man that couples a strong love for people with a determined
vision from God. He combines the integrity of proper biblical interpretation with the zeal of a preacher to the end that services
are electrified with the presence of God.
In October 2005 Rev. Hooks organized the Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist
Church, on the first day of evangelism the church signed up 75 for sunday school.
Rev. Hooks is leading Mt. Moriah Church
family to becoming "A Church on the Move" for Christ in both the Christian and secular community. He is married to Marcena
Hooks and they have one daughter Brianna.
